Puciato, best known as the longtime frontman of Grammy-winning metal band The Dillinger Escape Plan, formed The Black Queen as a deliberate departure from that band’s chaotic, technical aggression, favoring cold synths, restrained vocals, and a moodier, more introspective sensibility instead. The band’s 2016 debut album “Fever Daydream” and 2018’s “Infinite Games” built a devoted following among fans drawn to its blend of vulnerability and darkness, distinct from Puciato’s more aggressive main projects.
The Black Queen’s live shows lean into moody lighting and dense, layered synth textures that set them apart from the more guitar-driven acts typical of Scout Bar’s rock and metal-heavy calendar.
