Dallas: Tommy Castro and the Painkillers at The Kessler Theater
November 10 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Tommy Castro Kessler Theater Blues Night
Tommy Castro and the Kessler Theater deliver a night of hard-driving blues on Tuesday, November 10, when the guitarist and his band, the Painkillers, roll into Oak Cliff. Castro grew up in San Jose, California, and fell in love with the blues and soul records of the 1960s. As a result, his sound blends stinging guitar with gritty, soulful vocals.
Over the years, Castro has become one of the most decorated blues artists of his era. In particular, he has won multiple Blues Music Awards, including the top honor of B.B. King Entertainer of the Year. He records for Chicago’s famed Alligator Records, and his band has toured relentlessly across the country. Because the Painkillers are a tight, road-tested unit, their live shows are known for long jams and plenty of energy.
About the Kessler Theater
The Kessler Theater first opened in Oak Cliff in the early 1940s, and singing cowboy Gene Autry was once among its owners. After decades of decline, the Art Deco building was restored and reopened as a live music venue in 2010. Since then, it has become one of the most respected listening rooms in North Texas. In addition, its intimate layout means nearly every seat feels close to the stage.
