Sugar Land: Outlander in Concert at Smart Financial Centre
Outlander in Concert comes to Smart Financial Centre in Sugar Land on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2026, at 6:00 PM, with tickets starting at $99. The symphonic show pairs a live orchestra performing the series’ score with the show’s most memorable moments projected on a cinema-sized screen.
“Outlander,” based on Diana Gabaldon’s bestselling novels, follows Claire Randall, a World War II nurse who is swept back to 18th-century Scotland and falls for Highland warrior Jamie Fraser. The Starz series ran from 2014 through its eighth and final season, and it built one of television’s most devoted fan bases. A big part of its identity is the music by composer Bear McCreary, whose score leans on Scottish folk melodies, bagpipes, fiddle and choir.
McCreary, who won an Emmy for his work on “Da Vinci’s Demons” and is also known for scoring “Battlestar Galactica,” “The Walking Dead” and “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” reworked Robert Louis Stevenson’s poem into the show’s famous “Skye Boat Song” theme. In concert, that theme and the score’s big romantic and battle cues come to life with full orchestra while scenes from the series play above the stage.

The show is touring theaters and performing arts centers across the country in 2026 and 2027, and Texas fans have several chances to catch it this season: Dallas on Nov. 25, Austin on Nov. 28 and San Antonio on Dec. 1. Smart Financial Centre opened in 2017 as Sugar Land’s 6,400-seat performing arts venue, and its theater-style layout suits a concert built around both screen and orchestra. Doors typically open about an hour before showtime. Smart Financial Centre is at 18111 Lexington Boulevard in Sugar Land, about 20 miles southwest of downtown Houston, with on-site parking. The Sunday 6 PM start means an early evening, so plan for Thanksgiving weekend traffic on U.S. 59.
