Gate’s Hill Cemetery is located at the South end of Bonham off of State Hwy 78. There is no fence around the cemetery.

The pioneering jazz guitarist was born on July 29, 1916, in Bonham. However, he spent most of his childhood in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where his family moved when he was a young child. He is buried in the Gates Hill Cemetery in Bonham.
