Austin: Kenny Wayne Shepherd at ACL Live
February 20 @ 8:00 pm

Kenny Wayne Shepherd is a blues-rock guitar virtuoso from Shreveport, Louisiana, who burst onto the scene in the mid-’90s as a teenage prodigy with a fiery fretboard style that’s been making amps smoke ever since. He’s a multi-GRAMMY-nominated, platinum-selling powerhouse known for big hits like “Blue on Black” and a career that blends classic blues reverence with modern rock energy. Over three decades he’s shared stages with legends like B.B. King, Bob Dylan, and The Rolling Stones, and earned widespread respect for keeping the blues alive and kickin’.
In 2026, Kenny Wayne Shepherd will be performing the entire album live. In addition to the full classic debut, expect a deep dive into songs from across his 30-plus year career. Special guests Jimmie Vaughan and Eric Johnson will join select dates to add extra guitar sparks.
Shepherd has a newly recorded version of Ledbetter Heights arriving in 2026 to coincide with the celebration, giving fans a fresh studio spin on the music that launched his career.
Early last year, Shepherd collaborated on a new blues album called Young Fashioned Ways with blues legend Bobby Rush. This release features original songs written together and showcases Shepherd’s continued creative evolution.
