Dale Watson and His Lone Stars open September at the Kessler Theater with a night of unapologetic honky-tonk. Watson has spent decades as one of the genre’s most vocal defenders, coining the term “Ameripolitan” to separate his traditional sound from mainstream Nashville country. Because he’s built his whole career around that distinction, a Watson show always feels like a statement as much as a performance.
Singer-songwriter India Ramey opens the night, adding her own sharp, plainspoken style to the bill.
