Built in 1928 on Mason’s courthouse square and opened with a screening of the German silent film “Metropolis,” the Odeon Theater is the longest continually operating theater in West Texas. Threatened with conversion in the mid-1990s, it was saved by local residents who formed the nonprofit Odeon Preservation Association and painstakingly restored it. Today the 100-year-old, totally refurbished Hill Country theater is one of Willis Alan Ramsey’s favorite rooms to play — especially around Valentine’s Day.

After a February 2026 date there, Ramsey wrote: “I’ve just returned from a great Valentine’s Day concert at the 100 year-old, totally refurbished Odeon Theater in Mason, TX. Here’s a shoutout especially to Dennis Evans, who booked the nearly sold-out show…along with all involved including the newlywed couple who’d decided to come to the show right after saying their wedding vows!”
