Waco: Pecos & The Rooftops at The Backyard Waco
August 28 @ 8:30 pm - 10:30 pm
$50
Pecos & The Rooftops bring their high-energy blend of country and classic rock to The Backyard Waco on Friday, Aug. 28, 2026, with tickets starting at $50.
The band’s story started in 2019, when four college students in Lubbock started perfecting their sound in the big five-bedroom house they shared — hanging out, and eventually taking their name from the rooftop where they’d gather. Since then, platinum-certified frontman Pecos Hurley and his bandmates have built a devoted following on the strength of their lowdown country and classic-rock swagger.
Pecos & The Rooftops Bring Rooftop Energy to Central Texas
Waco sits roughly halfway between Dallas and Austin, and The Backyard Waco’s open-air setting gives the band room to stretch out its dance-hall-ready rock and roll for a Central Texas crowd. The venue’s name fits a band that took its own name from a rooftop hangout, and Waco’s growing live-music scene has made it a regular stop for touring country and rock acts alike.
The group has built its reputation on relentless touring, playing dance halls and amphitheaters across the South and Southwest.
The band released its sophomore full-length album, From Me To You, on Warner Records in January 2026 — a nine-song storyline split between punchier material and more introspective songs like the recent single “Looking Down Proud,” Hurley’s tribute to a loved one that’s already surpassed a million streams. Waco follows the band’s stop at Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth, another North Texas date on the same run.
Showtime is 8:30 p.m. The Backyard Waco is an outdoor venue, so check the forecast and dress for the weather; lawn seating is available alongside reserved areas.
Doors typically open a half hour before showtime, and parking is available on-site. The Backyard Waco also features food trucks and a full bar on site for concertgoers.
