Weathers has spent two decades building a sound that fuses soul, gospel, rock and Americana into something Fort Worth crowds simply call “Texas Soul.” His voice, compared to Springsteen and Stevie Wonder in the same breath, went national when his cover of “I Will Always Love You” went viral, but Weathers has never been a one-trick showman. At the height of his touring momentum, he stepped away from the road to launch Love Like You Mean It, an anti-trafficking mission he runs with his wife Kady that provides refuge for children in India and El Salvador. That detour reshaped the urgency in his music: the songs hit harder now, and the live show turns into something closer to a revival than a set list.

Red River Station sits inside a converted 1920s lumberyard in Saint Jo, a Montague County ranching town about 90 minutes northwest of the Fort Worth Stockyards, where Weathers played a hometown show at Billy Bob’s Texas earlier this summer. The open-air venue has become one of North Texas’s most talked-about stops for touring Red Dirt and Texas Soul acts, pairing barbecue smoke with a stage built for bands that like their sets loud and their crowds dancing. It’s a fitting room for a singer who built his reputation turning honky-tonks into all-out celebrations.
Weathers is now touring behind his new album Neon Never Fades and a fresh publishing deal with Nashville’s Sea Gayle Music, all while mentoring the next wave of Cowtown musicians and keeping his own show as sweaty and joyous as ever. Lucas Jagneaux opens the night.
Red River Station is a mostly outdoor, general-admission venue with limited reserved tables, so dress for the weather and arrive early for a spot near the stage. Doors typically open an hour before showtime.
