About Randy Rogers Band

Randy Rogers Band formed in San Marcos in 2000 around frontman Randy Rogers, who grew up in Cleburne learning piano from his great-grandmother before picking up guitar and songwriting as a kid. The band built its following the hard way, grinding through Texas dance halls and dive bars and recording its debut, “Live at Cheatham Street Warehouse,” at the San Marcos club where Texas music legend George Strait got his own start. Randy Rogers Band’s breakthrough came with 2004’s “Rollercoaster,” an album that turned a regional grassroots following into a genuine movement and landed the band a deal with Mercury Nashville, placing Randy Rogers Band alongside Robert Earl Keen, Pat Green, and Willie Nelson in the upper tier of Texas music. Guitarist Geoffrey Hill, bassist Jon Richardson, fiddler Brady Black, and drummer Les Lawless round out a lineup known for pairing honest country songwriting with a rowdier rock and roll edge.

Red River Station’s outdoor stage and dance hall setting outside Saint Jo has become a natural home for touring acts built on that same dance-hall lineage, and it’s a fitting room for a band that came up playing exactly these kinds of Texas rooms. Fans who caught Josh Weathers Band’s September show at Red River Station already know the venue draws a crowd that shows up ready to two-step.

Randy Rogers Band has released a string of albums on Mercury Nashville and independently since “Rollercoaster,” including collaborations with artists like Jamey Johnson and Wade Bowen, and the band remains one of the steadiest touring draws in the Texas country circuit two decades in. Doors open at 8 PM with music following shortly after. Red River Station offers both general admission standing room and reserved tables, so arrive early for a spot near the stage — expect a mixed crowd of longtime Randy Rogers Band fans and Texas dance hall regulars ready for a Saturday night.
