Usrey cut his teeth touring the regional Texas circuit as an independent artist before his 2019 single “Come Back Down” went viral and pushed him to national attention. Since then, his track “The Light” landed a high-profile placement on the hit television show Yellowstone.
In 2023, Usrey signed with Atlantic Records, which released his debut album, Crossing Lines. Because he wanted a more personal follow-up, his 2025 album These Days leaned into a rugged, stripped-down sound produced by Dave Cobb. His early musical heroes ranged from classic rock acts like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Faces to fellow Texans Wade Bowen and Whiskey Myers, and that mix of influences still shapes his live show today.

The Kessler Theater has anchored the Oak Cliff neighborhood since opening in 1942, and the Art Deco building was once owned by singing cowboy Gene Autry. Since its restoration and reopening as a live music venue, the Kessler Theater has built a reputation for pristine acoustics and an intimate room that puts fans close to the stage.
