Emma Nissen Kessler Theater tickets are on sale for Saturday, October 3, as the 25-year-old jazz-pop phenomenon brings her genre-blending sound to Oak Cliff. Nissen first found viral fame in 2023 when a scatting performance of her song “Breathe” spread widely online, introducing her improvisational style to a much larger audience. Because she has described her sound as “Christian jazz,” her music draws heavily on the influence of Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.
Her debut album, Love Like You, arrived in August 2024 and stormed to number one on the iTunes Christian Music Charts within 24 hours, selling out on Amazon soon after. The record was partly produced by Grammy-, Dove-, and Billboard Award winner Seth Mosley alongside Grammy-nominated Nate Pyfer and producer Stephen Nelson. In addition to her chart success, Nissen’s videos have drawn more than 200 million views and caught the attention of artists including SZA, Meghan Trainor, and Queen Latifah.

The Kessler Theater has anchored the Oak Cliff neighborhood since opening in 1942, and the Art Deco building was once owned by singing cowboy Gene Autry.
