Austin: Bob Schneider & The Moonlight Orchestra at ACL Live

Bob Schneider & The Moonlight Orchestra close out Thanksgiving weekend at ACL Live at the Moody Theater in Austin on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2026. The hometown show starts at 8:00 PM, and tickets start at $66.
About Bob Schneider and the Moonlight Orchestra
Few musicians are as woven into Austin’s modern music scene as Bob Schneider. He came up in the 1990s fronting the funk-rock party bands Joe Rockhead and the Ugly Americans, then moved to the side project The Scabs before launching a solo career with 2001’s Lonelyland, the album that gave him the local anthem “40 Dogs (Like Romeo and Juliet).” Since then he has released a steady stream of records that jump from tender folk ballads to hip-hop-inflected grooves to bawdy, hilarious story songs.
That restless range has made him one of the most decorated artists in the history of the Austin Music Awards and a perennial local draw. For this show he is joined by the Moonlight Orchestra, a larger ensemble that fleshes out his songs with expanded arrangements, giving longtime fans a fresh way to hear familiar material. Songs that work as solo acoustic numbers take on a different character with a bigger band behind them, and Schneider has always been at his best when he is reworking his own catalog in front of a home crowd.
Schneider plays the Moody often, and a Bob Schneider show at ACL Live has become something of a seasonal tradition for Austin audiences. If you missed his Valentine’s Day show at ACL Live earlier this year, this post-Thanksgiving date is the next chance to catch him in the city’s flagship theater.

Doors typically open an hour before showtime. Holiday-weekend traffic and downtown events can make parking tight, so arrive early or plan on a rideshare to Second Street.
