Austin: Domi and JD Beck at Come and Take It Live

September 10 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$60

Dallas-bred drum prodigy JD Beck brings his genre-bending duo DOMi and JD Beck to Come and Take It Live in Austin on September 10, 2026. Tickets start at $60 for a 7 p.m. set from one of jazz’s most electrifying young acts.

Born and raised in Dallas, Beck started on piano at five before switching to drums at nine, soaking up lessons from Erykah Badu bandmate Cleon Edwards and bassist Robert “Sput” Searight while still in grade school. By his early teens he was producing beats and sitting in on Dallas jam sessions, building the polyrhythmic vocabulary that would make him one of the most talked-about drummers of his generation.

Beck met French keyboardist DOMi Louna at the 2018 NAMM Show, and the pairing clicked instantly. The two built a cult following through viral clips of dizzying, genre-hopping improvisation before signing to Anderson .Paak’s APESHIT Recordings and releasing their Grammy-nominated debut album, Not Tight, in 2022. Along the way they’ve shared stages and studios with Thundercat, Herbie Hancock, Bruno Mars, and Mac DeMarco.

Not Tight earned the duo a Grammy nomination for Best Progressive R&B Album and made them festival favorites from Coachella to North Sea Jazz. Beck has said his Dallas roots still shape how he reads a room, a skill sharpened on nights sitting in with local bands at spots like the Kessler Theater long before DOMi and JD Beck became a global act. Expect a set that swings between hushed, intricate interplay and full-tilt fusion chaos, the kind of show that’s made them word-of-mouth favorites among musicians and fans alike.

Doors typically open an hour before set time. Come and Take It Live is a large outdoor venue, so early arrival is recommended for anyone hoping to catch this rising duo up close.
