Hazlett is the stage name of Mitchell Hazlett Lewis. He was raised in Brisbane, Australia, before relocating to Sweden. He worked as a ghostwriter and bassist-for-hire before launching his own solo project. In 2017, he released his debut EP, Honey, Where Is My Home. That record introduced the quietly personal songwriting style that still defines his music.
His studio albums Bloom Mountain, released in 2023, and last night you said you missed me, released in 2025, have built him an audience of roughly 3 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Because his songwriting leans so introspective, Hazlett has spent the past year touring almost nonstop. As a result, he has cemented himself as one of the more compelling singer-songwriters working today. The Kessler’s intimate room should be an ideal setting for his understated style.

The Kessler Theater has anchored the Oak Cliff neighborhood since opening in 1942. The Art Deco building was once owned by singing cowboy Gene Autry.
