Dallas: Paul Cauthen at The Bomb Factory

Paul Cauthen plays The Bomb Factory in Dallas on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2026, at 8:00 PM, with tickets starting at $56. The East Texas singer known as “Big Velvet” brings his booming baritone and swaggering mix of country, soul and gospel to one of Deep Ellum’s biggest rooms.
Cauthen grew up in Tyler and sang in church before forming the duo Sons of Fathers with Beau Bedford. He went solo with 2016’s “My Gospel,” a record that showcased his huge voice and Texas soul influences, and followed it with “Room 41,” “Country Coming Down” and “Black on Black.” His songs about faith, temptation and Texas pride have made him a cult favorite with a wild, unpredictable live show.
His fifth album, “Book of Paul,” arrived April 3, 2026. Cauthen co-wrote 12 of its 13 songs and played bass and drums on some tracks, and the album includes “Texas Swagger,” “Bayou By You” and “Ain’t No Crime.” He launched it with the Tonkin’ N Tejas Tour, a spring run of Texas dance halls and clubs, and this Dallas show is a chance to hear the new songs in a much bigger room.
