Thee Sinseers Kessler Theater tickets are on sale for the Halloween night show on Saturday, October 31, as the East Los Angeles band brings its Chicano soul sound to Oak Cliff. Led by multi-instrumentalist, producer, and singer-songwriter Joseph Quiñones, the group performs with a full brass section and is one of the premier acts in the “Souldies,” or Chicano Oldies, scene. Because that genre draws directly on the interrelated lowrider and soul music traditions of 1950s Los Angeles, every Thee Sinseers set feels like a trip back in time.
The band released its first singles, “It Was Only a Dream” and “I Don’t Mind,” in 2019, and followed them with the full-length Sinseerly Yours in March 2024. In addition to their recorded output, a live performance of their song “Seems Like” went viral online, drawing over a million views and making the band an in-demand booking for souldies parties everywhere. As a result, this Kessler date should draw dancers as much as listeners.
About the Kessler Theater
The Kessler Theater has anchored the Oak Cliff neighborhood since opening in 1942, and the Art Deco building was once owned by singing cowboy Gene Autry. Since its restoration and reopening as a live music venue, the Kessler Theater has built a reputation for pristine acoustics and an intimate room that puts fans close to the stage.
