Forster grew up in Winton, Queensland, and only picked up a guitar after moving to Mount Isa, releasing his debut single “Oneida” in July 2021. In January 2024, he won the Toyota Star Maker Quest at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, a major launching pad for Australian country artists.
Since then, Forster’s career has accelerated quickly. His debut album, Gooseneck Party, arrived in November 2025 and charted on the ARIA Australian Album Chart, and in early 2026 he won Male Artist of the Year and Toyota New Talent of the Year at Australia’s Golden Guitar Awards. Because his sound blends country, blues, and folk influences rooted in the Americana tradition, his August 2026 album The Aftermath has traveled well beyond Australia, leading directly into this U.S. tour stop.
