Traditional Texas country gets its due on Saturday, August 22, 2026, when Jake Worthington headlines Billy Bob’s Texas in the Fort Worth Stockyards.
Showtime is 10 PM at Billy Bob’s Texas, 2520 Rodeo Plaza, the legendary dancehall with room for 6,000 fans on the floor. Doors open early for a crowd that already knows every classic country reference Worthington drops.
Born in La Porte, Texas, Worthington grew up on his grandfather’s porch performances of Ray Price, Merle Haggard and George Jones, and was playing central Texas honky-tonks by the time he was fourteen. He became a household name as the runner-up on Season 6 of The Voice, and rather than chase the bro-country sound labels pushed on him afterward, he insisted on making traditional country music instead.

Worthington now records for Big Loud Texas, the imprint founded by fellow Texan Miranda Lambert, and his sophomore album When I Write The Song features a Lambert collaboration alongside Marty Stuart and Mae Estes. In February 2026, the Grand Ole Opry named him to its NextStage Class. As Holler put it, his music is “authentic Texas country with a deep devotion to the genre’s heritage.”
