Austin roots-rock royalty comes to the Stockyards on Sunday, September 6, 2026, when The Band of Heathens headline Billy Bob’s Texas with support from fellow Texans The Wilder Blue.
Showtime is 7:30 PM at Billy Bob’s Texas, 2520 Rodeo Plaza, the Stockyards institution with a dance floor built for 6,000. A Sunday-evening start means an early night out without missing a minute of the show.
Formed in Austin in 2005 by Ed Jurdi and Gordy Quist, The Band of Heathens have spent two decades as one of the most fiercely independent acts in American music, earning a platinum certification for their song “Hurricane” entirely outside the traditional industry system. Their new album, Country Sides, marks their 20th anniversary and finds the band self-producing a free-wheeling, guitar-filled record with longtime collaborator Jim Vollentine, whose credits include Spoon and Patty Griffin.

Joining them is The Wilder Blue, the McKinney, Texas five-piece fronted by Zane Williams that’s built its own following putting a rock-tinged spin on modern country. Together, the two Texas acts make for one of the strongest double bills to hit Billy Bob’s all year.
