Danzig brings its dark, riff-heavy metal to Bayou Music Center in Houston on September 12, with the show starting at 6 PM. Fronted by Glenn Danzig since the band’s 1987 formation, the group grew out of Danzig’s earlier work in the influential horror-punk band the Misfits and the gothic rock outfit Samhain, carrying forward a signature blend of blues-based riffing, occult imagery, and Danzig’s distinctive baritone vocals.
The band’s self-titled 1988 debut and 1992’s “Danzig III: How the Gods Kill” cemented its place in the metal and hard rock underground, while 1993’s “Mother,” originally a modest hit, became a rock radio staple years later after a re-release, giving Danzig a lasting mainstream foothold beyond his devoted cult following.
