The Swiss-Ecuadorian brothers Alejandro and Estevan Gutiérrez have built an international following on wordless, reverb-drenched compositions that draw on desert-noir, spaghetti-western, and Latin American folk traditions.
The duo’s breakthrough came with a series of albums released through Easy Eye Sound, the label run by Black Keys guitarist Dan Auerbach, who has produced much of their catalog including 2021’s “El Bueno y el Malo” and 2023’s “El Astronauta.” Their music, built almost entirely around interlocking guitar lines with no vocals, has drawn comparisons to Ennio Morricone soundtracks and earned them festival slots and sync placements well beyond typical instrumental-music audiences, along with a devoted following that has grown steadily through word of mouth and streaming platforms.
713 Music Hall sits inside POST Houston, the redeveloped former Barbara Jordan Post Office at 401 Franklin Street on the edge of downtown. Live Nation opened the room in 2021, and its big open floor, high ceilings and modern sound system make it one of the city’s go-to stops for touring acts.
