San Antonio: The Red Clay Strays at Frost Bank Center
September 20 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
$60
The Red Clay Strays bring their raw, Southern-fried mix of rock and soul to Frost Bank Center in San Antonio on Sunday, September 20, 2026, with tickets starting at $60 for the 6:30 p.m. show. The Mobile, Alabama, five-piece has spent the last two years going from bar-band obscurity to one of the most talked-about live acts in American roots music.
Formed in 2016 when vocalist Brandon Coleman and bassist Andrew Bishop’s old covers band dissolved, the Red Clay Strays added guitarist/vocalist Drew Nix, guitarist Zach Rishel, and drummer John Hall to round out the lineup. Their raw, picturesque 2022 debut album Moment of Truth included the slow-burning “Wondering Why,” a song that crossed over from a viral online moment to the Billboard charts in late 2023 and landed the band a deal with RCA. Their 2024 follow-up, Made by These Moments, was produced by Dave Cobb and cracked the Top 40 of the Billboard 200, cementing their reputation for gritty, gospel-inflected rock built for arenas as easily as honky-tonks.
The band’s stop at Frost Bank Center comes just a week after J. Cole packed the same arena, another sign of how far San Antonio’s concert calendar has stretched across genres this fall. Expect a sweaty, testify-along crowd, since the Strays have built their following almost entirely on the strength of their live show rather than radio play.

Critics and fans alike have compared the band’s sound to everything from Otis Redding to Lynyrd Skynyrd, but the Strays wear those influences loosely, favoring raw performance over polish. Their rise has coincided with a broader resurgence of Southern rock and roots music on the charts, and the band has said they see themselves as carrying that tradition forward rather than reviving it as nostalgia.
Doors typically open about 90 minutes before showtime. Frost Bank Center sits just off I-35 on San Antonio’s east side, with ample on-site parking, so plan to arrive early to grab a spot on the floor.
