Formed in 2012 when Georgia-born singer-songwriter Tyler Lyle met Denmark-based producer Tim McEwan at a Los Angeles songwriting workshop, The Midnight built a devoted following almost entirely outside the traditional label system, turning a shared love of ’80s film scores and pop into a signature synthwave sound. Lyle’s literate, hook-driven lyrics paired with McEwan’s lush, retro production have carried the duo through a string of acclaimed albums, and their Austin stop arrives in support of 2025’s Syndicate, their latest full-length exploring the same nostalgia-soaked territory that made them festival mainstays.
ACL Live’s warm, theater-scale room is a fitting home for a band built on widescreen, cinematic sound design.
