SUMMARY:Sean McConnell
DESCRIPTION:Sean McConnell Opens August at the Kessler Theater\nSean McConnell and the Kessler Theater kick off the venue’s August run on a Saturday evening in Dallas. The Nashville-based songwriter has spent nearly two decades building a catalog that other artists cover almost as often as he performs it himself. As a result\, McConnell has quietly become one of Americana’s most respected working writers. \nHis live shows lean on that same songwriting craft\, mixing stripped-down ballads with full-band rock energy depending on the night. Because McConnell tours constantly\, his sets stay loose and conversational\, often built around stories behind the songs. Overall\, a Sean McConnell show rewards fans who like their singer-songwriter nights a little unpredictable. \nAbout the Kessler Theater\nThe Kessler Theater has served Oak Cliff since 1942\, first as a movie house and now\, after a 2010 restoration\, as one of the city’s premier listening rooms. \nShow Details & Tickets\nSean McConnell takes the stage Saturday\, August 1 at 7:00 PM. Doors open ahead of the early start time. \nGet Sean McConnell tickets on StubHub \nBuy Tickets \nWant more Dallas shows? SUMMARY:Big Mike Richardson
DESCRIPTION:Big Mike Richardson Rocks the Kessler Theater\nBig Mike Richardson and the Kessler Theater have crossed paths plenty over the years\, and this August marks another round. Richardson has spent more than twenty years performing across North Texas\, both fronting his own band and holding down long-running residencies. Because of that track record\, he’s become a go-to name for classic rock done right. \nHis regular gigs at the Flying Saucer Draught Emporium and The Moon have built a loyal following in Fort Worth and beyond. Richardson also plays in several tribute projects\, including a Police homage and a Doors-inspired outfit. As a result\, his sets pull from decades of rock history rather than any single era. \nAbout the Kessler Theater\nThe Kessler Theater has hosted Dallas music since a 2010 restoration transformed the historic 1942 building into a full-time concert venue in Oak Cliff. \nShow Details & Tickets\nBig Mike Richardson performs Saturday\, August 1 at 8:00 PM. Grab a seat early for this North Texas rock staple. \nGet Big Mike Richardson tickets on StubHub \nBuy Tickets \nLooking for more shows? SUMMARY:Niki Brisco
DESCRIPTION:Niki Brisco Takes the Kessler Theater Stage\nNiki Brisco and the Kessler Theater share a Thursday night in early August\, giving Dallas a low-key midweek show. The Kessler has long made room for developing and independent artists alongside its bigger touring bills. Because of that\, a Thursday night slot here often turns into one of the best-kept secrets on the local calendar. \nThe room’s close quarters and famously good sound reward performers who lean on nuance rather than volume. As a result\, an early-week booking at the Kessler tends to draw a crowd that’s there specifically to listen. That kind of attention is hard to find at bigger rooms\, which is exactly why Oak Cliff regulars keep coming back. \nAbout the Kessler Theater\nThe Kessler Theater reopened in 2010 after decades dark\, restoring the 1942 Art Deco movie house into one of Dallas’s most respected live music venues. \nShow Details & Tickets\nNiki Brisco performs Thursday\, August 6 at 7:00 PM. Doors open ahead of the early set time. \nGet Niki Brisco tickets on StubHub \nBuy Tickets \nWant more Dallas shows? Browse the Texas Music Map events calendar for what’s coming up next.

SUMMARY:The Woodlands: Christopher Cross at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion
DESCRIPTION:Before he was sweeping the Grammys\, Christopher Cross was a San Antonio kid who grew up on Texas music. On August 7\, 2026\, Cross returns to his home state. He headlines the Christopher Cross Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion show in The Woodlands as part of a triple bill with TOTO and The Romantics. \nCross’s 1979 self-titled debut changed the sound of American pop radio overnight. “Sailing” and “Ride Like the Wind” were immaculate and unhurried. In 1981\, he swept all four major Grammy categories — Record\, Song\, and Album of the Year\, plus Best New Artist. No one has matched that since. For a kid who learned guitar in San Antonio\, that kind of staying power is something earned\, not assigned. \nTOTO bring their own deep credits to the night. These are the Los Angeles session musicians who wrote “Africa” and played on more hit records than anyone has properly counted. Together\, Cross and TOTO at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion make for a rare bill of genuine craftsmen. The following night at Cynthia Woods: Whiskey Myers and The Black Crowes on August 8th. Tickets from $29 on StubHub. \nBuy Tickets

SUMMARY:Blood Brothers featuring Mike Zito and Albert Castiglia
DESCRIPTION:Blood Brothers Bring Two Blues Guitarists to the Kessler Theater\nBlood Brothers and the Kessler Theater team up this August for a co-headlining night of blues guitar. The project pairs award-winning players Mike Zito and Albert Castiglia\, both established solo artists in their own right. Because each has a stack of nominations and acclaimed albums behind him\, sharing a stage raises the stakes for both. \nTheir latest album together\, Help Yourself\, has already picked up strong reviews and award nominations across the blues world. Special guest Alastair Greene rounds out the bill\, adding a third guitarist to an already guitar-heavy night. As a result\, fans should expect long solos\, tight interplay\, and very little downtime between songs. \nAbout the Kessler Theater\nThe Kessler Theater has been a fixture of Oak Cliff since a 2010 restoration reopened the historic 1942 building as a live music venue. \nShow Details & Tickets\nBlood Brothers play the Kessler on Friday\, August 7 at 8:00 PM. Blues fans should plan on an early arrival. \nGet Blood Brothers tickets on StubHub \nBuy Tickets \nWant more Dallas shows? SUMMARY:Helotes: Aaron McBee and Lane Smith at John T. Floore's Country Store
DESCRIPTION:Aaron McBee and Lane Smith share the bill at John T. Floore’s Country Store in Helotes on August 7\, 2026\, pairing two distinct takes on modern Texas country. McBee\, from Brady\, Texas\, was raised by his grandmother and blends grunge-era rock influences with country songwriting\, building a following of over 100\,000 fans since signing with Grey Area Music in 2023. \nLane Smith\, a former rodeo bullfighter from Spring Branch\, Texas\, brings Texas grit polished with Nashville songcraft. Since his 2018 debut EP and 2023 self-titled album\, Smith has built a reputation for authentic\, road-tested storytelling. \nBuy Tickets \nFloore’s open-air stage is a perfect fit for this double bill of rising Texas talent\, with two very different roads to the same honky-tonk sound. \nDon’t miss this co-headlining night in an intimate Helotes setting — secure your tickets on StubHub.

SUMMARY:The Woodlands: Whiskey Myers & The Black Crowes at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion
DESCRIPTION:East Texas has been producing hardbitten rock and roll for a long time\, and Whiskey Myers is the latest proof. On August 8\, 2026\, the Palestine\, Texas band plays Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands as direct support for The Black Crowes. Whiskey Myers at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion should rattle the tall pines north of Houston. \nWhiskey Myers formed in Palestine\, Texas in 2007 and spent years grinding the circuit before their self-titled 2019 album broke them wide. That record debuted at number one on the Billboard country charts. No radio singles. No industry push. It got there on word of mouth\, relentless touring\, and songs that sounded lived-in from the first listen. Frontman Cody Cannon writes with a specificity that separates real Texas country from the Nashville variety. \nThe Black Crowes bring thirty-plus years of Southern rock credibility to the bill. They rebuilt the band from the ground up after a decade apart and sound better for it. This same tour moves to Dallas the following night — The Black Crowes and Whiskey Myers at Dos Equis Pavilion on August 9th. Tickets for Whiskey Myers at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion start from $25 on StubHub. \nBuy Tickets

SUMMARY:Austin: TOTO\, Christopher Cross\, The Romantics at Germania Insurance Amphitheater
DESCRIPTION:San Antonio’s own Christopher Cross joins TOTO and The Romantics for a night of classic rock and pop at Austin’s Germania Insurance Amphitheater on August 8\, 2026. It’s a triple bill of enduring hits from three of the era’s most beloved acts\, anchored by one of Texas’s greatest musical exports. \nChristopher Cross was born in San Antonio\, Texas\, and burst onto the national scene with his self-titled debut album in 1980 — an album that swept the Grammy Awards\, winning Album of the Year\, Record of the Year\, Song of the Year (“Sailing”)\, and Best New Artist. It remains one of the most decorated debut albums in Grammy history. Cross’s smooth\, sophisticated soft rock sound captured the spirit of an era\, and his voice — warm\, distinctive\, and immediately recognizable — set him apart from every other artist on the radio. \n“Sailing\,” “Ride Like the Wind\,” “Arthur’s Theme (Best That You Can Do)\,” “Think of Laura\,” “Never Be the Same” — the hits just keep coming with Cross\, whose run of early-’80s success produced some of the most beloved songs of the decade. SUMMARY:Fort Worth: Josh Ward at Billy Bob’s Texas
DESCRIPTION:Houston’s Josh Ward returns to the room that already knows his sound by heart on Saturday\, August 8\, 2026\, when he headlines Billy Bob’s Texas. \nShowtime is 10 PM at Billy Bob’s Texas\, 2520 Rodeo Plaza\, the Stockyards dancehall famous enough that Ward recorded an entire concert album there — Live at Billy Bob’s Texas. Doors open early\, and with room for 6\,000\, it’s the kind of night this venue was built for. \n“All grit and no quit” is the mindset that carried Ward from a rough adolescence through the rodeo circuit and the Texas oil fields into a music career built entirely on his own terms. He’s notched sixteen consecutive #1 hits on Texas radio and racked up more than 100 million streams globally\, all while touring more than 200 dates a year with boots-on-gravel vocals and steel-laced arrangements that favor honesty over gloss. \nGet Josh Ward tickets on StubHub \nBuy Tickets \nA serious 2021 accident — Ward was stepped on by a horse and nearly lost his life — gave him a new outlook that’s only sharpened his focus on family and music since. “These people pay their hard-earned money to see it every night\,” Ward has said of his fans. “Every time I step on stage\, you guys remind me that I have more than I deserve.” \nFort Worth already knows what to expect: a packed floor\, a five-album deep catalog\, and a singer who never phones it in.

SUMMARY:Dallas: Whiskey Myers & The Black Crowes at Dos Equis Pavilion
DESCRIPTION:The night after rocking The Woodlands\, Whiskey Myers and The Black Crowes head south to Dallas. On August 9\, 2026\, the Whiskey Myers Dos Equis Pavilion Dallas show brings this co-headline tour to Fair Park — one of the best outdoor rooms in North Texas. \nWhiskey Myers is the Palestine\, Texas band that cracked the Billboard country charts in 2019 without a single radio push. Their self-titled album got there on relentless touring and songs that sounded lived-in from the first listen. They are the kind of band Deep Ellum used to mint — hard-playing\, straight-talking\, and not interested in Nashville’s opinion. Frontman Cody Cannon’s voice sounds like it was worn in by years of late nights and honest work. \nDos Equis Pavilion at Fair Park sits in the heart of Dallas\, a city with deep roots in Texas music history. The Black Crowes have been at this for thirty years and sound sharper for the time away. If you’re making a weekend of it\, this same tour played Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands on August 8th. SUMMARY:Olivia O'Brien
DESCRIPTION:Olivia O’Brien Brings Confessional Pop to the Kessler Theater\nOlivia O’Brien and the Kessler Theater meet up this August for a night built around her sharp\, diary-style songwriting. O’Brien broke through with viral hits built on brutally honest breakup lyrics\, and she’s kept that same directness through several albums since. Because her fanbase grew up alongside her online\, the shows tend to feel like a room full of old friends. \nSince her early singles\, O’Brien has leaned further into full-band pop and confessional balladry alike. Her live sets mix upbeat singalongs with quieter\, more vulnerable moments. As a result\, an Olivia O’Brien show swings between celebration and catharsis\, often within the same song. \nOlivia O’Brien first built her audience through a run of viral singles before major labels came calling. Since then\, she has toured steadily and kept releasing new music independently\, which has only deepened the connection with longtime fans. For more on what else is playing nearby\, check out the Kessler Theater’s full events calendar on Texas Music Map. \nAbout the Kessler Theater\nThe Kessler Theater has served Oak Cliff since a 2010 restoration transformed the 1942 Art Deco movie house into a full-time concert venue. \nShow Details & Tickets\nOlivia O’Brien performs Sunday\, August 9 at 8:00 PM. Doors open ahead of the evening set. \nGet Olivia O’Brien tickets on StubHub \nBuy Tickets Expect a set that mixes her biggest streaming hits with newer\, more personal album cuts. \nWant more Dallas shows? Browse the Texas Music Map events calendar for what else is on the Kessler’s schedule \nBecause O’Brien writes so directly about her own life\, fans often treat her shows like a shared diary entry read out loud. As a result\, singalongs at an Olivia O’Brien concert tend to hit harder than the polished pop production might suggest on record. \n.

SUMMARY:Dallas Dead Summit featuring an All-Star Bob Weir Tribute
DESCRIPTION:Dallas Dead Summit Salutes Bob Weir at Longhorn Ballroom\nBob Weir and Longhorn Ballroom come together this August\, as the Dallas Dead Summit stages an all-star tribute to the Grateful Dead co-founder. The show gathers regional and touring musicians who built their reputations on Grateful Dead-style improvisation. Because the lineup rotates through the night\, no two songs sound quite the same. As a result\, longtime Deadheads and first-time listeners tend to leave equally impressed. \nThe tribute centers on the songbook of Bob Weir\, a Grateful Dead co-founder and rhythm guitarist. Since the band’s early days\, Weir has helped shape a style built on extended jams and loose\, exploratory playing. In addition\, his catalog spans six decades\, giving the Dallas Dead Summit plenty of material to draw from. For example\, expect deep cuts alongside well-known singalongs. Overall\, the format rewards patience: songs stretch out\, solos trade off between musicians\, and the room fills with the same free-flowing spirit that has kept Grateful Dead tribute shows packing venues for decades. \nLonghorn Ballroom itself has hosted Dallas music history since the 1950s\, once serving as a home stage for touring country and rock acts alike. Pairing that legacy venue with a Bob Weir tribute gives the Dallas Dead Summit a fitting backdrop\, tying the Grateful Dead’s improvisational roots to a room built for exactly that kind of show. \nAbout Bob Weir\nBob Weir co-founded the Grateful Dead in 1965\, and he remained one of its most recognizable voices for six decades as the band’s rhythm guitarist and a distinctive vocalist. He died on January 10\, 2026\, at age 78\, following a battle with cancer\, and a public memorial was held that January in San Francisco. In the years leading up to his passing\, he continued to tour and record with Wolf Bros\, the band he formed with Don Was and Jay Lane. Read more about his life and career on Wikipedia. \nShow Details & Tickets\nDoors open early for this one. The show starts at 6:00 PM on Saturday\, August 15\, 2026\, at Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas. So far\, that early start gives fans a full night of dancing before curfew. \nGet Dallas Dead Summit tickets on StubHub \nBuy Tickets \nMeanwhile\, browse more upcoming shows on the Texas Music Map events calendar.

SUMMARY:Fort Worth: Roger Creager at Billy Bob’s Texas

SUMMARY:New Braunfels: Flatland Cavalry at Whitewater Amphitheater
DESCRIPTION:There is a reason Texans call Whitewater Amphitheater the Red Rocks of Texas. Nestled on the banks of the Guadalupe River\, below the canyon bluffs\, and right in the heart of the Texas Hill Country\, Whitewater Amphitheater is not simply another live music venue — it is a destination. A one-of-a-kind outdoor music experience for a diverse crowd of both Texans and tourists. A summer tradition. A bucket-list play. And on Monday\, Aug. 17\, 2026\, that destination gets one of the most exciting acts in Texas country music when Flatland Cavalry brings their Work of Heart Tour to the riverbank at 8 PM. \n🎟️ Get your Flatland Cavalry New Braunfels tickets now on StubHub\nBorn and built in Lubbock\, Texas\, Flatland Cavalry has spent a decade becoming one of the most beloved bands to ever come off the High Plains. Whether hot-trotting in a 12-passenger van in the early days\, caravanning on colossal treks with Willie Nelson\, Luke Combs\, and Lainey Wilson\, or headlining their own months-long tours with a Who’s Who of historic venue sellouts along the way\, Flatland Cavalry remains “at the fore of the red dirt renaissance\,” according to Rolling Stone. \nThe band is out on the road behind their brand-new fifth studio album\, Work of Heart. The 12-track album is a collection of songs written while touring and taking their music on the road — things experienced\, emotions felt\, and real life lived. Frontman Cleto Cordero noticed the word “heart” appeared often when this batch of songs came together\, and the result is Flatland’s most personal record yet. The past couple of years have been full of milestones for the band — their first ACM Award nomination for Group of the Year\, their first RIAA Gold certification for breakout single “A Life Where We Work Out\,” and featured placements on Taylor Sheridan’s hit shows Yellowstone and Landman. \nWith four albums\, six number-one singles on the Texas Country Music Charts\, and over 500 million streams to their name\, Flatland Cavalry has put in the work and earned every seat in every sold-out venue they’ve played. Hearing them perform those songs live — on a warm July night with the Guadalupe River rolling behind the stage\, canyon bluffs framing the sky\, and cypress trees swaying in the Hill Country breeze — is an experience that reminds you why Texas music is unlike anything else on the planet. \nWith a capacity of 5\,600\, Whitewater Amphitheater hosts some of the hottest and legendary names in music in one of the most beautifully unique and intimate settings in the country — on the river and under the stars. Seating options include general admission\, preferred sections\, and VIP Sky Boxes with private bars and premium sightlines.

SUMMARY:Dimebag Darrell: Arlington's Heavy Metal God
DESCRIPTION:Today is the birthday of Dimebag Darrell. He would be 60 today. \nDarrell Lance Abbott was born in Arlington\, Texas on August 20\, 1966. He and his brother Vinnie Paul grew up in a musical household — their father Jerry Abbott was a country music producer. Darrell picked up guitar early and immediately went somewhere else entirely. He and Vinnie formed Pantera with singer Phil Anselmo in the late 1980s. They started as a glam metal band in Arlington clubs and then reinvented themselves as something heavier\, angrier\, and more technically precise than the genre had seen. \nThe Groove Metal Blueprint\nVulgar Display of Power came out in 1992 and changed heavy metal’s direction. Dimebag’s guitar tone — tight\, percussive\, dropped-tuned — became the template for an entire decade of metal. Pantera played to stadium crowds worldwide through the 1990s. Dimebag’s solo on “Cemetery Gates” and the riff of “Walk” are standard texts in metal guitar education. He left Pantera and formed Damageplan with Vinnie Paul. On December 8\, 2004\, Dimebag was shot and killed on stage in Columbus\, Ohio. He was 38. Texas built one of metal’s greatest guitarists in the shadow of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. SUMMARY:Kenny Rogers: Houston's Country Gambler
DESCRIPTION:Today is the birthday of Kenny Rogers. He would be 88 today. \nKenneth Donald Rogers was born in Houston\, Texas on August 21\, 1938\, in the Third Ward. His family was large and poor. He grew up singing in school choirs and started playing local clubs as a teenager. He joined the New Christy Minstrels in the early 1960s\, then formed the First Edition in 1967 — a psychedelic-folk group that had an unlikely hit with “Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)” in 1968. Kenny Rogers was already thirty and still figuring out where his career was going. \nThe Gambler’s Run\n“The Gambler” came out in 1978 and became one of the most recognizable songs in American music history. “Lucille” hit No. 1 in 1977. “Lady” in 1980. His duet with Dolly Parton\, “Islands in the Stream\,” in 1983 sold over two million copies. Rogers understood something about storytelling that most country singers missed — the song had to be a movie in three minutes. His Kenny Rogers Roasters chicken restaurant chain made him a household name to people who’d never bought a record. He died March 20\, 2020\, in Sandy Springs\, Georgia. The Houston Third Ward never forgot to dream big. Learn more at the Texas State Historical Association.

SUMMARY:Fort Worth: Silverada at Billy Bob’s Texas
DESCRIPTION:Austin’s own Silverada — the band formerly known as Mike and the Moonpies — bring their road-tested dancehall country to Billy Bob’s Texas on Friday\, August 21\, 2026. \nShowtime is 8 PM at Billy Bob’s Texas\, 2520 Rodeo Plaza\, the Stockyards institution built to hold 6\,000 people on its dance floor. An earlier start means more time for two-stepping before the night is through. \nFrontman Mike Harmeier was still in his early 20s when he formed the band in 2007\, cutting his teeth on five-hour sets across Austin’s dancehall circuit before the group became global ambassadors for homegrown Texas music — flying their flag from the Grand Ole Opry to Abbey Road Studios\, where they recorded 2019’s Cheap Silver and Solid Country Gold with the London Symphony Orchestra. \nGet Silverada tickets on StubHub \nBuy Tickets \nIn January 2024\, the band made a pivotal change\, rebranding as Silverada and releasing a bold\, self-titled album that same June. The new name hasn’t changed the songwriting that made them one of the most respected acts in Texas and Americana music — sharp\, detailed storytelling backed by gorgeous swells of pedal steel and piano and a rhythm section that can shift from a country shuffle to hard-charging rock ’n’ roll without missing a beat. \nFort Worth gets a band that’s spent nearly two decades earning its reputation the old-fashioned way — one honky-tonk at a time.

SUMMARY:A Hard Night's Day - Beatles Tribute
DESCRIPTION:A Hard Night’s Day Recreates the Beatles at the Kessler Theater\nA Hard Night’s Day and the Kessler Theater bring the Beatles’ catalog back to life this August. The tribute act builds its show around faithful recreations of the band’s biggest eras\, from the mop-top years through the studio experiments of Sgt. Pepper and beyond. Because the setlist spans the full catalog\, longtime Beatles fans tend to hear at least one deep cut alongside the hits. \nTribute shows like this one thrive on close attention to detail\, from vocal harmonies to period-accurate instrumentation. As a result\, a well-run Beatles tribute can feel less like a cover show and more like a time machine. That kind of care is exactly what keeps rooms like the Kessler booking tribute acts alongside original touring artists. \nAbout the Kessler Theater\nThe Kessler Theater reopened in 2010 after a careful restoration of its original 1942 Art Deco design in Dallas’s Oak Cliff neighborhood. \nShow Details & Tickets\nA Hard Night’s Day takes the stage Friday\, August 21 at 8:00 PM. SUMMARY:Fort Worth: Jake Worthington at Billy Bob’s Texas
DESCRIPTION:Traditional Texas country gets its due on Saturday\, August 22\, 2026\, when Jake Worthington headlines Billy Bob’s Texas in the Fort Worth Stockyards. \nShowtime is 10 PM at Billy Bob’s Texas\, 2520 Rodeo Plaza\, the legendary dancehall with room for 6\,000 fans on the floor. Doors open early for a crowd that already knows every classic country reference Worthington drops. \nBorn in La Porte\, Texas\, Worthington grew up on his grandfather’s porch performances of Ray Price\, Merle Haggard and George Jones\, and was playing central Texas honky-tonks by the time he was fourteen. He became a household name as the runner-up on Season 6 of The Voice\, and rather than chase the bro-country sound labels pushed on him afterward\, he insisted on making traditional country music instead. \nGet Jake Worthington tickets on StubHub \nBuy Tickets \nWorthington now records for Big Loud Texas\, the imprint founded by fellow Texan Miranda Lambert\, and his sophomore album When I Write The Song features a Lambert collaboration alongside Marty Stuart and Mae Estes. In February 2026\, the Grand Ole Opry named him to its NextStage Class. As Holler put it\, his music is “authentic Texas country with a deep devotion to the genre’s heritage.” \nExpect a set that leans hard into the honky-tonk stylings that made him a favorite among traditionalists — and a packed Billy Bob’s floor happy to two-step along.

SUMMARY:Bruce Robison with Matt Hillyer
DESCRIPTION:Bruce Robison Brings Texas Songwriting to the Kessler Theater\nBruce Robison and the Kessler Theater close out August with a night built around plainspoken Texas songwriting. Robison has written hits for George Strait\, the Chicks\, and Tim McGraw\, and his own catalog includes staples like “Wrapped” and “Angry All the Time.” Because he writes as well for other artists as for himself\, his live shows carry an easy\, well-worn confidence. \nMatt Hillyer\, longtime frontman of Eleven Hundred Springs\, joins the bill and brings his own honky-tonk pedigree to the night. Since both writers work from the same well-worn Texas songbook tradition\, the pairing makes for a natural double bill. As a result\, expect a night heavy on storytelling and light on filler. \nAbout the Kessler Theater\nThe Kessler Theater has anchored Oak Cliff since a 2010 restoration turned the historic 1942 movie house into a live music venue. \nShow Details & Tickets\nBruce Robison and Matt Hillyer perform Sunday\, August 23 at 8:00 PM. SUMMARY:Canyon: Charley Crockett at The Lumberyard Canyon
DESCRIPTION:Out on the High Plains of the Texas Panhandle\, the sky goes on forever and the horizon feels like it belongs to you. It’s the kind of country that puts things in perspective — wide\, open\, and honest. Which makes it just about the perfect setting for Charley Crockett\, one of the most authentic voices in American roots music\, when he rolls into Canyon\, Texas on Thursday\, August 27\, 2026 for his Age of the Ram Tour. Showtime is 6:30 PM at The Lumberyard Canyon\, located at 850 North 23rd Street — and this is one West Texas evening you won’t want to miss. \n🎟️ Buy Charley Crockett tickets in Canyon\, TX at The Lumberyard — West Texas’s premier outdoor concert venue\nThe Lumberyard is Canyon’s premier outdoor concert venue — a vibrant space designed for live music\, community\, and unforgettable nights under the West Texas sky\, complete with a full stage\, professional sound\, and colorful lighting. With a capacity of 5\,000 people and the wide-open Panhandle air as the backdrop\, there’s no better place in the region to take in a show of this magnitude. The Lumberyard also features an on-site restaurant with an outdoor patio\, so come hungry\, come early\, and settle in for the kind of Texas evening that reminds you why you live here. \nAnd the headliner? Well\, Charley Crockett doesn’t need much of an introduction in the Lone Star State. Tapped by Garden & Gun as an artist “shaping up to be one of country music’s most prolific torchbearers\,” called a “must-see live performer” by Rolling Stone\, and a “force to be reckoned with” by CMT\, Crockett has spent the better part of a decade building a sound that is impossible to imitate and impossible to ignore. His signature “Gulf & Western” style — described by NPR Music as “very 21st century and very vintage” — weaves together country\, blues\, soul\, Cajun\, and R&B into something that feels both ancient and brand new every time it comes out of the speakers. \nHis latest album\, Age of the Ram\, caps what’s being called the “Sagebrush Trilogy” and carries a distinctly cinematic quality\, built around a concept album framework anchored by a recurring theme that gives the record an ambition and depth beyond anything in his already remarkable catalog. Hearing those songs performed live\, under an open West Texas sky with the last of the summer heat fading and the stars coming out over the Panhandle — that’s not just a concert. That’s an experience. \nThe Canyon date kicks off a landmark stretch of Texas dates for Crockett on the Age of the Ram Tour\, followed immediately by two nights at Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth and a Sunday show at Floore’s Country Store in Helotes — making this the first shot at catching him on what amounts to a Texas homecoming run. Canyon gets him first. \nFor every ticket sold\, Crockett is contributing $1.00 to the Last Prisoner Project\, a nonprofit organization working to free individuals incarcerated for cannabis-related offenses and repair the harms of the war on cannabis — because Charley Crockett is that rare artist who puts his money where his mouth is. \nChair rentals are available for this show\, so check availability when you grab your tickets. As with any show at The Lumberyard\, arriving early is the smart play — get a bite to eat on the patio\, find your spot\, and soak in the atmosphere before the music starts. \nCanyon\, Texas\, this is your moment. Don’t let it pass you by like a tumbleweed on a dry Panhandle road.

SUMMARY:Fink
DESCRIPTION:Fink Brings Atmospheric Songwriting to the Kessler Theater\nFink and the Kessler Theater wrap up August with a night built around mood and space. The British singer-songwriter\, born Fin Greenall\, first made his name as a DJ and producer before shifting toward the stripped-down guitar music that defines his catalog today. Because his songs favor atmosphere over hooks\, a Fink show tends to reward close\, quiet listening. \nSince crossing into songwriting\, Fink has built a career that blurs the line between folk\, electronic\, and rock influences. His work with artists like Flume and John Legend has widened his audience well beyond the UK. As a result\, his live sets draw a mixed crowd of longtime singer-songwriter fans and newer listeners discovering him through collaborations. \nAbout the Kessler Theater\nThe Kessler Theater has been a fixture of Oak Cliff since a 2010 restoration reopened the historic 1942 Art Deco building as a concert venue. \nShow Details & Tickets\nFink performs Friday\, August 28 at 8:00 PM. Arrive early for this intimate\, listening-room-style show. \nGet Fink tickets on StubHub \nBuy Tickets \nWant more Dallas shows? SUMMARY:Fort Worth: Charley Crockett at Billy Bob's Texas
DESCRIPTION:If there’s one place in the great state of Texas built for a night like this\, it’s Billy Bob’s. And if there’s one artist walking the earth right now who was born to play it\, it’s Charley Crockett. When the GRAMMY Award-nominated singer-songwriter rolls into Fort Worth on Friday\, August 28\, 2026\, for his Age of the Ram Tour\, the two are going to make history together inside the most famous honky-tonk on the planet. \n🎟️ Buy Charley Crockett tickets in Fort Worth at Billy Bob’s Texas — the world’s largest honky-tonk\nShowtime is 10 PM at Billy Bob’s Texas\, located in the heart of the Fort Worth Stockyards at 2520 Rodeo Plaza — the same sprawling\, neon-lit dancehall that has hosted everyone from Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings to Garth Brooks over its legendary run. With room for 6\,000 boot-scooters and a dance floor big enough to get genuinely lost on\, Billy Bob’s isn’t just a venue — it’s a Texas institution. And on this particular Friday night\, it belongs to Charley Crockett. \nOpening the evening is The Weary Boys\, making for a stacked bill that’ll have the crowd warmed up and ready well before Crockett takes the stage. \nSo who exactly is Charley Crockett? He’s the kind of artist Texas produces once in a generation. A true descendant of Davy Crockett\, raised on the blues in Dallas and seasoned by the brass-heavy soul of the French Quarter in New Orleans\, Crockett has spent his career building a sound that critics have scrambled to describe and fans have simply fallen in love with. Rolling Stone has called him a “must-see live performer\,” CMT named him a “force to be reckoned with\,” and NPR Music described his singular “Gulf & Western” style as “very 21st century and very vintage.” The Wall Street Journal put it plainly: his vocal style is one part Ernest Tubb honky-tonk\, one part Bill Withers soulful crooning\, and one part jazzy French Quarter swagger. There’s nobody else in country music who sounds quite like him. \nHis latest album\, Age of the Ram\, caps what’s being called the “Sagebrush Trilogy” and takes on a distinctly cinematic quality — built around a concept album framework with a recurring theme that gives the record a depth and ambition that sets it apart from anything in his already remarkable catalog. Hearing those songs performed live\, under the lights of Billy Bob’s\, is going to be something else entirely. \nFor every ticket sold on this tour\, Crockett is donating $1.00 to the Last Prisoner Project\, a nonprofit working to free individuals incarcerated for cannabis-related offenses — because Charley Crockett isn’t just an artist\, he’s a man with something to say. \nThis is an 18 and over event\, so bring your valid ID. Reserved seating is available\, and with a show this anticipated inside one of the world’s most storied music venues\, you’ll want to lock in your seats sooner rather than later. \nFort Worth\, get ready. A Friday night at Billy Bob’s with Charley Crockett on the Age of the Ram Tour is the kind of Texas evening that’ll still be talked about come Sunday morning.
