SUMMARY:Roanoke: Ray Wylie Hubbard at Roanoke ChopShop
DESCRIPTION:Ray Wylie Hubbard\, the whiskey-soaked outlaw poet of Texas songcraft\, is headed back to North Texas at the Roanoke ChopShop. \n Buy Tickets \nHis latest album\, 2022‘s Co-Starring Too\, is Hubbard’s version of a hoedown-cum–supergroup jam session. It doubles down on the vibe he started with Co-Starring — gathering folks from every corner of roots\, rock\, country\, blues\, and even metal to sing\, riff\, and philosophize alongside him. Hubbard tapped heavy hitters Willie Nelson\, Steve Earle\, Wynonna Judd\, Ringo Starr\, Ann Wilson (of Heart)\, Lzzy Hale\, Steve Lukather\, James McMurtry\, Hayes Carll\, Wade Bowen & Randy Rogers & Cody Canada\, The Band of Heathens\, and more. \nOutlaw country’s favorite curmudgeon\, Ray Wylie Hubbard has been scribbling songs and dodging pigeonholes since the 1960s. He has penned classics that became anthems for people who like their honky-tonk served with a side of rebellion and wit. \nAt any given show\, you might hear: \n\n“Up Against the Wall\, Redneck Mother” — The song that blasted Hubbard onto the map — a hilariously sharp portrait of a beer-swilling\, pickup-drivin’ rebel with a wink and a nod. Originally recorded by Jerry Jeff Walker in 1973\, this tune became a cultural touchstone in Texas and beyond. Its blunt\, bone-dry humor about redneck pride turned it into an enduring outlaw country anthem.\n“Snake Farm” — A gritty\, blues-infused romp that sounds exactly like what it is — nasty\, snaky\, and impossible to shake from your head once it bites. A fan favorite in live shows\, it captures Hubbard’s raw edge like few others.\n“Conversation With the Devil” — A devilish talking-blues yarn where the narrator chats with ol’ Lucifer about life choices and moral muddles — part folk tale\, part social commentary\, all wickedly clever.\n“Dust of the Chase” — One of Hubbard’s more reflective pieces — a song about longing\, restlessness\, and the eternal wanderer’s heart. It’s poetic\, well-crafted storytelling that steers away from pure honky-tonk and leans into Americana soul.\n“Drunken Poet’s Dream” — Co-written with Hayes Carll\, this tune pairs literary humor with honky-tonk honesty — a drinking song that feels like a defiant shrug for anyone who’s ever poured their thoughts into a whiskey glass.\n“Screw You\, We’re From Texas” — A piss-and-vinegar salute to Lone Star bravado. It’s equal parts swagger and self-aware humor — basically a middle finger wrapped in a Texas flag.\n“Desperate Man” — Co-written with Eric Church\, this song became a major country hit\, showing Hubbard’s pen still packs punch in modern contexts.\n\n

SUMMARY:Austin: Los Lonely Boys at Antone's Nightclub
DESCRIPTION:Los Lonely Boys\, the Grammy-winning “Texican Rock n’ Roll” trio\, are headed back to Antone’s in Austin. The three brothers from San Angelo — Henry\, Jojo\, and Ringo Garza — dust off the usual rock-and-roll rulebook and sprinkle in some Texas blues\, brown-eyed soul\, country sweetness\, and a dash of Tejano spice.\nBUY TICKETS\n\n\nLos Lonely Boys dropped their latest album in 2024 called Resurrection — their first full-length in about 11 years. The Lead single “Wish You Would” brings back their signature blend of soul-soaked rock\, Tex-Mex flair\, and heartstring-tugging lyrics. The band has talked openly about how this record feels like true resurrection — not just a new album\, but a rebirth of their sound and brotherhood.\n\nThey shot to worldwide fame in 2004 with their double-platinum self-titled album and the Grammy-winning single “Heaven\,” and over the years have released several albums and toured extensively while weathering personal and professional ups and downs.\n\nLos Lonely Boys have a deep catalog of great songs\, including:\n\n “Señorita” — Sultry\, sweet\, and spicy enough to make you rethink your dance-floor moves.\n “More Than Love” — Romantic without being corny — real love talk from real brothers.\n “Nobody Else” — A blues-rock groove that sticks like barbeque sauce.\n “Crazy Dream” — Dreamy rhythms and that unmistakable “Texican Rock n’ Roll” vibe.\n “Staying With Me” — A heartfelt slow burn that’s perfect for late-night listens.\n “Diamonds” — Light\, breezy and easy on the ears.\n “Velvet Sky” — Lounge-y melodies that feel like a sunset in song form.\n “Dime Mi Amor” — Latin-flavored magic to spice up any set list.\n “So Sensual” — A sultry groove that’s more tequila than sweet tea.\n\nThe brothers grew up steeped in music. Their dad\, Enrique “Ringo” Garza Sr.\, was already a working conjunto musician in Texas\, and young Henry\, Jojo\, and Ringo Jr. learned how to play backing him in clubs and dance halls around San Angelo while they were still kids\, soaking up rhythm and harmony like sponges at a rain party. \nAs they hit their teens\, the brothers found their own voice and band identity — even borrowing a song title from their dad’s catalog to name themselves Los Lonely Boys — and started gigging around town and beyond\, eventually attracting attention from club owners and industry folks that set them on the road to Nashville and later the bigger Texas music scene. \n

SUMMARY:Arlington: Ray Wylie Hubbard at Arlington Music Hall
DESCRIPTION:Ray Wylie Hubbard\, the whiskey-soaked outlaw poet of Texas songcraft\, is headed back to North Texas at the Arlington Music Hall.

SUMMARY:Tomball: The Fabulous Thunderbirds at Main Street Crossing
DESCRIPTION:Kim Wilson is a modern-day sonic sherpa guiding your soul through delta swamps and Texas tumbleweeds. He was born in Detroit in 1951\, raised on the 60s AM superstations of California\, and anchored by mentorship from Muddy Waters\, Little Walter\, and James Cotton. He co-founded the Fabulous Thunderbirds in 1974 alongside Jimmie Vaughan in Austin—home of legendary Antone’s Nightclub. \n\nBUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\nMuddy Waters himself dubbed Kim Wilson “the greatest harmonica player since Little Walter. These barnstormers earned him a #10 hit and opened the blues floodgates in the 80s. \nAfter Jimmie Vaughan departed in 1990\, Wilson remained the steady heartbeat and sole founding member through a rotating line-up. Revolutionizing live shows\, they became the first band to stream an HD concert online in 2000. \nOver the decades\, they’ve released 20+ albums\, picked up multiple Blues Music Awards\, six Grammy nods\, and remain stalwarts on the touring circuit. \nIn June 2024\, The Fabulous Thunderbirds dropped Struck Down\, their first studio album in eight years. Co-produced by Wilson\, it’s already topped blues charts on major streaming services. Featuring guest appearances by Keb’ Mo’\, Bonnie Raitt\, Taj Mahal\, Mick Fleetwood\, and ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons on the single “Payback Time\,” the album earned a 2025 Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Blues Album.

SUMMARY:Saint Jo: Robert Earl Keen at Red River Station
DESCRIPTION:You know those concerts where the spotlight hits and suddenly it’s you\, your buds\, and a sea of hootin’ fans belting out every bar? That’s a Robert Earl Keen show — no BS\, just Texas grit and grins. Seen at places from the Grizzly Rose in Denver to The Birchmere in DC\, these gigs are communal campfires — only louder and with better songs. \n\nBUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n  \nFrom “Corpus Christi Bay” to “The Road Goes On Forever\,” expect full‑throated sing‑alongs that turn theatres into roadhouses. One fan put it best: \n\n“REK live is awesome. It’s like he’s just having a conversation with you.” \n\nBetween songs\, Keen’s quick wit and Texas tales flow like beer from a tap. Whether he’s joking about college escapades or riffing on songwriting inspirations\, he bridges the gap between audience and stage. But don’t be fooled — this man’s no nostalgia act. Critics rate him “enjoyable and raucous\,” with concerts clocking nearly 90 minutes of live magic. \nRobert Earl Keen is not just a songwriter — he’s a cultural fixture in Texas. From Kerrville wins in the early ’80s to induction into the Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame\, Keen’s legacy runs deep. Catch his “Merry Christmas from the Family” medley if you can—it’s legendary enough to be called the “Rocky Horror Picture Show of Christmas songs.” \nWant a concert that’s part road‑trip party\, part storytelling sermon\, and all heart? Robert Earl Keen doesn’t just play songs—he invites you into his world. You’ll walk in a fan\, leave a believer. Slap on your cowboy boots\, grab a buddy\, and let Keen remind you why honest music still matters. \nSee y’all there.

SUMMARY:Helotes: Clint Black at Floore Country Store
DESCRIPTION:Clint Black\, one of country music’s most enduring stars\, is Back On The Blacktop for his 2025 North American tour. He’s bringing classic hits\, heartfelt storytelling\, and bar‑room swagger to a stage near you. \n\nBUY TICKETS\n\n \nClint Black has been an influential force in country music since bursting onto the scene in 1989. His debut album\, Killin’ Time\, revived classic country’s soul in a pop-saturated Nashville. The album yielded five straight No. 1 singles—an unprecedented feat. It also earned Triple Platinum status\, anchoring what fans call the “Class of ’89” alongside legends like Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson. CMT ranks Killin’ Time among the 100 Greatest Country Albums.\n \nUnlike many peers\, Clint wrote or co-wrote all of his 22 No. 1 hits and over 30 Top 10 tracks. He has surpassed 100 songs—about one-third earning single releases. That songwriting prowess is a hallmark of genuine artistry.\n \nBlack’s trophy shelf gleams with a Grammy\, multiple CMA and ACM awards—including Horizon and Male Vocalist honors—and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He’s been inducted into the Grand Ole Opry (1991) and Music City Walk of Fame—cementing his legendary status.\n \nOver the years\, Clint Black refused to chase trends. He self-produced and co-founded an artist-first label\, Equity Music Group\, to maintain true creative control. Known for his storytelling\, his mature lyrical style blends wordplay with heartfelt emotion—a combo that hits listeners deep.\n \n\nShowmanship: Live\, he’s a tight\, engaging performer with a band that’s been by his side since the late ’80s.

SUMMARY:Helotes: Flatland Cavalry at Floore Country Store
DESCRIPTION:Flatland Cavalry isn’t just another Americana outfit—they’re one of the most dynamic presences in country music. The band is known for its heartstring‑tugging lyrics\, fiddle‑fueled grooves\, and Texas-honed harmonies. They are a tight-knit sextet with unmistakeable chemistry. \n\nBUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\nFrom selling out Red Rocks Amphitheatre to being certified Gold by the RIAA for “A Life Where We Work Out\,” these guys are on a meteoric rise. Their songs have even made it onto major soundtracks like Yellowstone\, Twisters\, and The Hunger Games—because\, yeah\, storytellers who can move people get noticed. \nOriginally from Lubbock and now based between Nashville and Texas\, the band has consistently racked up six #1 singles on Texas Country radio and hundreds of millions of streams. They’re the same guys who earned an ACM Award nomination for Group of the Year in 2024—no fluff\, just respect. \nFrontman and songwriter Cleto Cordero pours his heart into songs like “Spinnin’” and “Mornings With You\,” the latter described by People as “his most beautiful work.” Reddit users echo this sentiment: \n\n“Cleto Cordero is one of the nicest people in music…spent about 5‑10 minutes talking to a fan that didn’t even watch the show.” \n\nThat authenticity spills into their live shows—intimate\, energetic\, unforgettable. \nTheir albums—from Humble Folks to Wandering Star and Flatland Forever—feel like soundtrack chapters of a life well-lived. Whether it’s the aching reflection of “Mountain Song” or the hopeful glow of new favorites\, each set is a journey. \nBottom Line: If you crave music with soul\, sincerity\, and Texas‑size spirit\, seeing Flatland Cavalry live is a no‑brainer. You’ll leave remembering the harmonies\, the laughs\, and maybe a tear—or two. Saddle up\, grab a friend\, and let these troubadours take you on a ride you won’t forget.

SUMMARY:Helotes: Robert Earl Keen at Floore Country Store

SUMMARY:Tomball: Kelly Willis at Main Street Crossing
DESCRIPTION:Kelly Willis is the honey‑soaked\, honky‑tonk angel of Texas. She has been weaving her voice through country and Americana since the late ’80s. Born October 2\, 1968 in Virginia and raised in Texas\, Willis cut her teeth in rockabilly bands like Kelly Willis & the Fireballs and Radio Ranch before landing in Austin’s vibrant singer-songwriter scene alongside Nanci Griffith and Lyle Lovett. \n\nBUY TICKETS\n\n  \nKelly Willis is cherished for reinventing country—melding rockabilly\, Americana\, and timeless roots. Her lean\, emotive voice\, sharp songwriting\, and independent spirit have earned her critical acclaim\, devoted fans\, and a legacy as Austin’s Queen of Americana. \nSigned at just 20 by MCA Records after Griffith’s tip to producer Tony Brown\, she released Well Travelled Love (1990)\, followed by Bang Bang (1991) and a self-titled third album (1993). Despite critical praise and national magazine coverage\, these records sold modestly\, prompting her departure from MCA. \nIn 1999\, that creative freedom paid off with What I Deserve\, released through Rykodisc. The album was a triumph—praised by No Depression and Rolling Stone\, and named Album of the Year at the Austin Music Awards. \nWillis is known for a heartfelt\, era‑blending voice—equally at home singing sad country or rock‑tinged swing. Rolling Stone\, NPR\, and the New York Times praised her blend of traditional twang and modern energy. \nAfter MCA\, she embraced independence—producing compelling works including Easy (2002) and Translated from Love (2007). She then collaborated extensively with husband Bruce Robison on duo albums like Cheater’s Game (2013) and Our Year (2014). \nIn 2018\, Kelly made a solo comeback with Back Being Blue\, produced in her Texas studio and lauded for its timeless sound and emotional depth. Recently\, she’s performed in a trio with Brennen Leigh and Melissa Carper at festivals including Kerrville Folk in 2023. \n
