Radio stations across Texas broadcast their sound into thousands of farmhouse kitchens. \nHe Built Western Swing From Scratch in a Dance Hall\nBrown had briefly sung with a young Bob Wills in the Light Crust Doughboys. But Brown wanted horns\, steel guitar\, and jazz harmony\, not just fiddle tunes. So he split off and formed his own band in 1932. The Beatles covered four Holly songs before they were signed to a record label. John Lennon said learning Holly’s songs was how he learned to play guitar. Keith Richards said the same.
