SUMMARY:Austin: Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy at Bass Concert Hall
DESCRIPTION:Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy comes to Bass Concert Hall in Austin on Saturday\, Dec. 12\, 2026\, at 8:00 PM\, with tickets starting at $167. Conductor Arnie Roth leads a full orchestra\, choir and soloists through music from the landmark video game series\, with HD video from Square Enix playing above the stage. \nThe first Final Fantasy game arrived in Japan in 1987\, and the series grew into one of the best-selling role-playing franchises in history. Its music\, led for decades by composer Nobuo Uematsu\, became beloved in its own right\, with pieces like “Prelude\,” the main theme\, “Aerith’s Theme\,” “One-Winged Angel” and “To Zanarkand” now performed by orchestras around the world. \nBuy Tickets \nDistant Worlds has toured since 2007 and is produced by AWR Music Productions. This program celebrates music from Final Fantasy XIV and XVI alongside highlights from across the series\, featuring work by Uematsu\, Masashi Hamauzu\, Naoshi Mizuta\, Hitoshi Sakimoto\, Yoko Shimomura and Masayoshi Soken. Roth\, a conductor and violinist\, has worked closely with Uematsu on the concerts since they began. \nGet your Distant Worlds tickets on TicketNetwork \nFor gamers who grew up with these scores\, hearing them performed by a live orchestra and choir is a different experience entirely\, and the screen footage ties each piece back to the moments fans remember. Bass Concert Hall\, the largest theater at the University of Texas\, has about 2\,900 seats and acoustics well suited to symphonic shows. See more shows on the Bass Concert Hall venue page on Texas Music Map. \nDoors typically open about an hour before showtime. Bass Concert Hall is on the UT campus at 2350 Robert Dedman Drive\, with paid parking in nearby campus garages. Saturday night in December can be busy downtown\, so arrive early and give yourself time to find your seats before the opening fanfare.
