SUMMARY:Austin: Sex Pistols at Emo's
DESCRIPTION:Sex Pistols founding members Steve Jones\, Paul Cook\, and Glen Matlock\, joined by vocalist Frank Carter\, bring their 50th-anniversary “Anarchy in the UK” tour to Emo’s in Austin on Saturday\, September 12\, 2026\, at 7:30 PM. Tickets start at $59 for a show originally scheduled for 2025 and rescheduled to this date. \nThe Sex Pistols’ 1977 debut “Never Mind the Bollocks\, Here’s the Sex Pistols” remains one of the most influential records in punk history\, distilling working-class British anger into a handful of blistering singles like “Anarchy in the U.K.” and “God Save the Queen.” With original vocalist Johnny Rotten not participating in this run\, the surviving instrumental lineup has enlisted Frank Carter — the ferocious frontman of Frank Carter & the Rattlesnakes and formerly of Gallows — to front the band for a tour marking a half-century since punk’s initial explosion. \nBuy Tickets \nEmo’s has built its reputation on exactly this kind of high-energy punk and rock booking\, and its stage is well-suited to a show built around one of the genre’s most foundational catalogs performed at full volume. \nGet your tickets here \nCarter has built his own reputation as one of modern punk’s most physically intense frontmen\, known for wading into crowds and demanding audience participation\, which makes him a fitting choice to front these songs live nearly fifty years after they first upended British rock. Fans looking to extend the night can also check out The Historic Scoot Inn\, another storied Austin venue nearby. \nEmo’s has anchored Austin’s rock and alternative scene for decades\, and its current East Riverside location gives touring acts a bigger stage and better sightlines than the venue’s earlier downtown home while keeping the same reputation for booking acts across punk\, metal\, hip-hop\, and everything in between. The room’s industrial-leaning design and heavyweight sound system have made it a favorite stop for bands looking to bring real production energy to a mid-sized Austin crowd\, and its booking history spans genres in a way few other venues in the city can match. Both the indoor stage and adjoining outdoor space give visitors options for how close to get to the action. \nDoors open at 7:30 PM. Emo’s is a standing-room venue\, so expect a packed\, high-energy floor\, and arrive early for a good spot near the stage.

SUMMARY:Houston: Sex Pistols (feat. Frank Carter) at House of Blues Houston
DESCRIPTION:The Sex Pistols\, one of the founding bands of British punk\, bring their reunion tour to House of Blues Houston on September 13\, with Frank Carter (of Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes) stepping in on vocals for this run of shows. \nFormed in London in 1975\, the Sex Pistols became the defining face of the UK punk explosion almost overnight\, built around Johnny Rotten’s snarling vocals\, Steve Jones’s raw guitar attack\, and a single studio album — 1977’s “Never Mind the Bollocks\, Here’s the Sex Pistols” — that remains one of the most influential rock records ever made. Songs like “Anarchy in the U.K.” and “God Save the Queen” turned the band into a genuine cultural flashpoint in Britain\, and their confrontational\, anti-establishment attitude shaped virtually every punk and hardcore band that followed. \nBuy Tickets \nHouse of Blues Houston has anchored downtown Houston’s live music scene since the mid-to-late 2000s\, pairing the House of Blues brand’s signature folk-art décor with two distinct rooms — the main Music Hall and the smaller Bronze Peacock — that let it book everything from arena-adjacent rock to intimate club shows. More on the venue’s history is available at House of Blues Houston’s own page on Texas Music Map. \nFrank Carter brings his own considerable punk pedigree to the frontman role\, having built a reputation as one of modern punk’s most ferocious live performers with Gallows and Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes. Pairing his energy with the surviving Sex Pistols lineup gives this tour a genuinely credible link back to punk’s founding moment rather than a simple nostalgia act. \nDoors open at 7:30 PM. Expect a packed\, high-energy floor\, and arriving early is a good idea given the historic weight of this lineup. Given the historic significance of this lineup and Houston’s strong punk following\, expect tickets to move quickly as the date approaches.
