DESCRIPTION:Uncle Lucius brings its Austin-bred blend of Southern rock\, soul\, and outlaw country to the Granada Theater in Dallas on Thursday\, Sept. 17\, 2026. Tickets start at $53. \nThe band’s story starts in 2002\, when a 25-year-old Kevin Galloway left a banking career in East Texas for Austin\, where he began playing open-mike nights around town. He eventually crossed paths with bassist Hal Vorpahl\, who grew up on Willie Nelson records before picking up bass guitar himself. The two started writing together\, and within a year they’d added guitarist Mike Carpenter\, a veteran of the Austin scene steeped in classic rock. Formally founded in 2005\, the group built its name the old-fashioned way: touring relentlessly and building a loyal following on the strength of its live show\, a jam-friendly mix of groove and grit that made Uncle Lucius a fixture of the Austin independent music scene. \nBuy Tickets \nUncle Lucius and the Texas Dance Hall Circuit\nThe band cut its teeth in the same circuit of Texas dance halls and honky-tonks that built acts like the ones who’ve packed Gruene Hall in New Braunfels for generations\, and that dance-hall discipline still shows in how tightly the band locks in live.
