The South Texas Music Walk of Fame in Corpus Christi is a sunny, stroll-friendly tribute to the region’s rich musical heritage. Embedded stars made of handcrafted ceramic tiles line a courtyard just one block from the bay in downtown Corpus Christi’s Water Street Market.
Each star honors a South Texas musician, songwriter, producer, or music figure — from Tejano icons to country, rock, and jazz legends — who’ve left a mark on the music world. You’ll find stars celebrating Selena, Freddy Fender, Flaco Jiménez, Doug Sahm, Augie Meyers, and George Strait, among the honorees.

The Walk was founded in 2004 as a gift from the owner of the Water Street Oyster Bar and supported by local volunteers and WaterStreet funding. It has grown from just six stars to more than 90, with new inductees traditionally added during Corpus Christi’s WaterStreet Market Music & Art Fest each June.
Visitors can wander along the tiles year-round for free, soaking up the stories behind the names and celebrating the diversity of South Texas music traditions. Everything from Tejano onda to rock-and-roll, country, and jazz is commemorated in a lively downtown setting surrounded by eateries and venues.
More than just sidewalk art, the Walk of Fame fosters local pride and cultural memory, honoring homegrown talent while introducing curious travelers to the deep musical roots that define South Texas’s sound.
