Stefani Montiel Joins the Lineup for the 46th Tejano Music Awards

Texas Music News — October 18, 2026

Stefani Montiel just joined the lineup for the 46th Annual Tejano Music Awards in Katy, Texas. The ceremony takes over the Texas Rodeo Saloon on Friday, Nov. 13. Montiel already owns a trophy case most singers would envy. She won Female Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year in 2017. Then she took Entertainer of the Year again in 2024. Her album La Dueña also won Album of the Year.

Montiel has sung Tejano since the 1990s, and she never stuck to one sound. Her shows feel like a family reunion with a better sound system, because she blends tradition with pop and cumbia. Sony Music released her 1994 album Te Voy Enamorar. Since then, she has become a fixture at the Tejano Music Awards. The Tejano ROOTS Hall of Fame and the New Mexico Music Hall of Fame inducted her in 2022.

Stefani Montiel’s Gold Gown Already Sits in a Museum

In August, the Totally Tejano Hall of Fame & Museum in San Antonio opened an exhibit of her career. It includes the gold gown she wore to the 2010 Latin Grammy Awards. Now she returns to the stage that built her name. Her 2025 EP Seguiré also ranks as a favorite for this year’s Album of the Year.

Comedian Happy The Entertainer hosts the night. Ram Herrera, Luis Ayala’s Fiebre, Jay Perez, Siggno, Gary Hobbs, Avizo and Jenny B also perform. The Texas Talent Musicians Association calls it the Biggest Night in Tejano Music. When Montiel steps up in Katy, a whole genre will lean in to listen. Details at Tejano Nation
