Fort Worth: Flatland Cavalry New Year’s Eve at Dickies Arena

Flatland Cavalry rings in the new year at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2026, at 8:30 PM, with tickets starting at $76. The New Year’s Eve show is part of the band’s Work of Heart Tour, and it marks a return to the arena where the band played its biggest headlining show to date on New Year’s Eve 2024.
Flatland Cavalry formed in Lubbock in 2014, led by singer and songwriter Cleto Cordero, who grew up in Midland and was inspired to make music after seeing the Randy Rogers Band in Odessa at 17. The six-piece band, with fiddle player Wesley Hall and multi-instrumentalist Adam Gallegos, built its following in West Texas dance halls with heartfelt, fiddle-driven songs about love, home and the road.
The band has scored six No. 1 songs on the Texas country charts, headlined the Ryman Auditorium and Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and placed songs on soundtracks including “Yellowstone.” Its fifth studio album, “Work of Heart,” is out now, and “Never Comin’ Back” became its first national country radio single. Earlier records include “Three Car Garage,” about the band’s Lubbock beginnings, and the greatest hits collection “Flatland Forever.”

Fort Worth has been home turf for years: the band’s first show there was in 2015, and it has sold out two-night runs at Billy Bob’s Texas. Dickies Arena opened in 2019 in the Cultural District and is the city’s biggest room for a New Year’s Eve countdown. See more shows on the Dickies Arena venue page on Texas Music Map.
Doors typically open about 90 minutes before showtime. Dickies Arena is at 1911 Montgomery Street, next to the Will Rogers Memorial Center, with paid parking in the Will Rogers garages. New Year’s Eve traffic will be heavy, so plan a safe ride home.
