Laredo: Grupo Frontera at Sames Auto Arena
July 18 @ 8:00 pm

Laredo, the Gateway City, sits at the crossroads of two countries, two cultures, and two languages. Nobody understands that border identity better than Grupo Frontera. On Saturday, July 18, 2026, the Rio Grande Valley’s most celebrated band brings the Triste Pero Bien C*brón Tour to Sames Auto Arena, with showtime at 8 PM. This is more than a concert. It’s a South Texas celebration on the banks of the Rio Grande.

The Triste Pero Bien C*brón Tour takes its name from the band’s collaboration with Puerto Rican star Myke Towers and supports their third studio album, Lo Que Me Falta Por Llorar — a record built for big rooms, big speakers, and big Saturday nights.
Building a Hit Machine
Grupo Frontera formed in the Rio Grande Valley — the same South Texas borderland that gives Laredo its soul. The band quickly rose from playing weddings and quinceañeras to headlining arenas coast to coast. Their music reflects exactly the world Laredo lives in every day.
The six-piece band built their sound around a high-energy blend of norteño, cumbia, and regional Mexican styles. They fuse traditional border sounds with contemporary production — música that crosses every line on the map and sounds like it belongs right here on the Texas-Mexico border.
Their breakthrough arrived in 2022 when a TikTok cover of Morat’s “No Se Va” racked up millions of views and led to a deal with Universal Music Latino. Then came hit after hit. “Bebé Dame” with Fuerza Regida shot to number one on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart and reached number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Grupo Frontera’s Bad Bunny collaboration “Un x100to” debuted at number five on the Billboard Hot 100 — the highest-charting regional Mexican track at the time — and topped charts across the U.S. and Mexico. Consequently, their debut album El Comienzo, produced by Grammy-winning producer Édgar Barrera, reached number two on the Regional Mexican Albums chart and number four on the Top Latin Albums chart.
The Accolades Keep Coming
The Texas Legislature formally recognized Grupo Frontera’s achievements, including their 15 nominations at the 2023 Billboard Latin Music Awards and their win for Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year. Additionally, the band earned two Grammy nominations for the 2026 ceremony — their first — competing for best Música Mexicana album for their EP with Fuerza Regida, Mala Mía, and their solo EP Y Lo Que Viene. Pollstar reports that one of Grupo Frontera’s 2024 San Antonio shows alone grossed over $1.6 million off nearly 14,000 tickets — proof that this band fills rooms and then some.
The Laredo date falls right at the heart of a landmark Texas run. They open the tour in Edinburg on July 16, then hit Laredo on July 18, San Antonio on July 19, Austin on July 22, Houston on July 23, and Dallas on July 24. Therefore, Laredo stands as stop three of six consecutive Texas dates — the kind of hometown sweep a South Texas band earns, not inherits.
Sames Auto Arena opened in October 2002 and has established itself over two decades as the premier entertainment destination in South Texas and Northern Mexico. The 178,000-square-foot facility holds up to 10,000 fans for concerts, features 14 luxury suites, six meeting rooms, and a private club — and boasts the largest indoor convention space in South Texas. Furthermore, the economic impact on the local community exceeds $100 million annually. Past performers at Sames include Elton John, Bad Bunny, Shakira, Julio Iglesias, Ricky Martin, Santana, and ZZ Top — and on July 18, Grupo Frontera joins that company on their hometown turf. Additionally, the arena sits conveniently near the Laredo International Airport, with hotels within walking distance of the venue.
No outside items are permitted at Sames Auto Arena. Tickets at the will call window require the original credit card and a photo ID. Arrive early — this is the kind of show that fills every seat before the first note drops.
