Austin: Imagine Muny V ft. Tanya Tucker & Wade Bowen at ACL Live

The fifth annual Imagine Muny gala lands at ACL Live at the Moody Theater in Austin on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026, with Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Tanya Tucker headlining a bill that also includes Asleep at the Wheel with the Copa Kings, Jack Ingram and Wade Bowen. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. for the 8:30 p.m. show, and tickets start at $124.

The night raises money for the Muny Conservancy, the nonprofit working to preserve Lions Municipal Golf Course, one of Austin’s oldest public courses and a genuine civil rights landmark: in 1950, Muny quietly desegregated years before public accommodations were legally required to, making it one of the first golf courses in the South open to Black and white golfers alike. That history is part of why so many Austin musicians keep showing up to protect it.

Tucker, who grew up in Seminole, Texas, before becoming one of country music’s most enduring voices, headlines a lineup stacked with Texas dance-hall and honky-tonk royalty. Asleep at the Wheel has spent five decades keeping Western swing alive, Jack Ingram has been a fixture of the Texas singer-songwriter scene since the ’90s, and Wade Bowen has built a career on the same red-dirt country circuit that runs through Austin’s dance halls.

Galas built around a cause don’t always draw a bill this deep, but Muny’s history — and the ongoing fight to keep the course public rather than handed over for development — has made it a cause Austin’s music community keeps showing up for.
