KNON, Dallas’s listener-supported community radio station, has hosted its long-running Rockabilly Revue for over three decades, showcasing the roots-rock, honky-tonk, and rockabilly acts that keep classic Texas dance-hall music alive. Headliner Linda Gail Lewis carries an especially deep musical pedigree — she is the younger sister of rock and roll pioneer Jerry Lee Lewis and has spent a decades-long career as a rockabilly and country performer in her own right, recording and touring internationally alongside artists across the genre’s history and even performing alongside her famous brother early in her career.
Sons of Hermann Hall has stood in Dallas’s Deep Ellum neighborhood since 1911, making it one of the oldest continuously operating music venues in Texas. Built by a German fraternal benefit society, the wood-floored upstairs hall has hosted country, folk, rockabilly, and roots music for over a century, and its historic character — creaky floorboards, vintage stage, and genuine small-town-dance-hall feel — has made it a beloved stop for songwriters and touring bands who want an intimate, storied room.
