Fort Worth: Geoff Tate’s Operation: Mindcrime at Tannahill’s Tavern & Music Hall
September 12 @ 8:00 pm - 10:30 pm
$40Geoff Tate, the original voice of Queensrÿche, brings his band Operation: Mindcrime to Tannahill’s Tavern & Music Hall in the Fort Worth Stockyards on Saturday, September 12. Tickets start at $40.
Tate fronted Queensrÿche from 1981 through 2012, singing lead on the band’s landmark 1988 concept album “Operation: Mindcrime,” a progressive-metal rock opera widely regarded as one of the genre’s defining records, along with hits like “Silent Lucidity” and “Empire.” After parting ways with Queensrÿche, Tate formed a new band under the name Operation: Mindcrime, both honoring and continuing the concept-album format that made his reputation, while also performing the original “Mindcrime” record in full on many tour stops.
Tannahill’s Tavern & Music Hall opened in the Fort Worth Stockyards in October 2022, the creation of chef Tim Love, a longtime official chef of Austin City Limits Music Festival, who named the room after his son. The 1,000-capacity Music Hall occupies Mule Alley, a row of century-old horse-and-mule barns renovated as part of the Stockyards’ historic redevelopment, and keeps an open, barn-like footprint with two bars flanking the general-admission floor and a pizza window for late-night eats. The room sits blocks from the rest of the Stockyards’ Western entertainment corridor, and showtimes vary by night, so check the calendar before heading out.

Tate’s live shows lean into theatrical staging befitting a concept-album catalog, and longtime Queensrÿche fans come specifically to hear that instantly recognizable voice tackle the operatic highs of “Mindcrime” in a room far more intimate than the arenas the songs were written for.
Doors typically open a couple hours ahead of the 8 PM set time. As with any large touring show, ticket prices can shift as the date approaches, so booking early is generally the safer bet for the best seats.
