Steven Patrick Morrissey grew up in Manchester, England, and co-founded the Smiths with guitarist Johnny Marr in 1982. In just five years the band released four studio albums, including “The Queen Is Dead,” and songs such as “This Charming Man,” “How Soon Is Now?” and “There Is a Light That Never Goes Out” that shaped decades of indie and alternative rock. After the Smiths split in 1987, Morrissey launched a solo career with “Viva Hate” and hits like “Suedehead” and “Everyday Is Like Sunday.”
His solo catalog runs from “Vauxhall and I” and “You Are the Quarry” to “Make-Up Is a Lie,” and his shows typically mix solo favorites with a handful of Smiths songs. The 2026 tour opened with a four-night stand in Las Vegas in August. He has also postponed or canceled many shows over the years, so it is worth checking for updates as the date approaches.
