Cody Johnson Joins Brothers Osborne on “Born and Raised Hell”

Texas Music News — October 25, 2026

Cody Johnson joins Brothers Osborne on “Born and Raised Hell,” the opening track of the duo’s new album, Watertown. The song dropped October 23, and it hits country radio November 2. Huntsville, Texas, native Cody Johnson brings a grit that matches the brothers’ own. Think of it as three old friends swapping stories on a garage floor at midnight.

Nick Swift directed the video, which cuts between a vintage-style garage performance and flashbacks to the Osbornes’ rebellious youth. John Osborne wrote the song with Lee Miller and Kendell Marvel. Meanwhile, Jay Joyce produced Watertown, the duo’s fifth studio album, for MCA. Also, the record marks the duo’s first full album with guests, including Johnson and Stephen Wilson Jr.

A Texas Voice in a Nashville Garage

Johnson, a former rodeo bull rider, built his career the hard way. That background explains why a song about growing up rough fits him so well. Texas Music Map already told his Huntsville badge-to-stage story, and this duet adds a fresh chapter.

TJ Osborne says the song returns the brothers to “the roots of where we started musically.” John Osborne also called Johnson “salt of the earth, COJO.” Because the track sounds this honest, country radio may not need much convincing. Few voices fit a garage full of memories better than a Texan with stories to tell.
