Hudson Westbrook just announced his sophomore album, and the Stephenville, Texas, native is putting his hometown roots front and center. Now the 22-year-old singer-songwriter has revealed Made You Look. It’s a 16-song collection arriving November 6 via River House Artists and Warner Music Nashville. It’s the follow-up to last year’s debut, Texas Forever, and it lands at a moment when Westbrook can barely keep up with his own rise.
Two years ago, Westbrook was stocking shelves at a feed store. He studied energy commerce at Texas Tech University, but he was chasing a landman career, not a music one. Then his song “Take It Slow” caught fire on TikTok, and he dropped out before the semester even finished. Then, early this year, his soulful ballad “House Again” hit number one on country radio. That made him the youngest solo male artist ever to top the chart with a debut single. It’s the kind of jump usually reserved for lottery winners, not feed store clerks.
How Hudson Westbrook Went From Feed Store to the Charts
Made You Look keeps Westbrook close to home. Hudson Westbrook wrote the title track with Lukas Scott, Joybeth Taylor, Neil Medley and Beau Bailey. The album already includes three previewed songs: “Hits Me,” “Backwards,” and “Hey Dallas.” That last one personifies Dallas as a friend Westbrook vents to about a complicated romance. This fall, he’ll also launch a 24-date headline “Hits Me Tour.” It’s his first run through major markets like Los Angeles, New York and Boston.
“This record is built on the experiences and memories that my fans made possible for me over the last couple of years,” Westbrook said. “We made it with them in mind, staying true to my Texas roots.” He’ll kick off two hometown nights at Billy Bob’s Texas next month before the tour heads out. Treaty Oak Revival landed a coveted opening slot on Luke Combs’ 2027 stadium run. The Texas and Red Dirt-bred band joins Avery Anna, Shenandoah and Wyatt McCubbin on the “My Kinda Saturday Night Tour.” The tour kicks off April 3 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, and fan club presale tickets open August 19, with general sales following August 21. Houston singer-songwriter Cece Estrada is throwing herself a two-part release party this week. She’ll debut songs from her upcoming bilingual EP at The Aurora Chapel in the Houston Heights on August 20.
